INTRO TO PADDLEBOARDING

Spend time on the land and water while learning everything you need to know about paddleboards' basics Level. Your instructors will introduce you to three main types of paddleboards and each varying traits. Characteristics of each paddleboard will be explained and demonstrated by the instructors from Inflatable Paddleboards "ISUP'S"  standard all-around fiberglass boards and even specialized carbon fiber race paddleboards. Take a peek into the building process and features that set each type of board apart, and the need to know's about each one. 

 

Learn tips on how to care for your paddleboard. Take a look at the loading/unloading of your paddleboard and some of the struggles you can skip with a few examples provided by instructors. Dive into the safety gear required by local laws and additional safety gear suggested by instructors.

 

Spend time on the water learning how to launch your paddleboard from shore and gain confidence on a stand-up paddleboard.

 - How to move from the seated position to standing

 - Practice paddle strokes 

 - How to get back on a paddleboard after you fall 

 -The reasons why wind and weather are so vital to keep track of

 -Fin Types, Settings, and leg leash designs and uses. 

 

Participants 

Ages 13 and up

Ages 18 and under, a legal guardian is required to be present for waiver signature

 

This Class Fitness level =2

Fitness Level Scale 1-4

1= Learning only no hands-on or prerequisite to fitness needed.

2=  Required movement in an outdoor setting requiring regular exercise

3= Vigorous physical activity in an outdoor environment for up to an hour

4= Strenuous physical activity needed for an outdoor environment.

 

Gear Provided by Murphs Surf 

-Life Jacket

-Paddleboard "Fitted by instructors based on weight."

-Paddle

-1.5-2 hours of total class/water time.

SUNSET PADDLE & WINE TASTING

Grab a board or kayak and paddle out for a lovely afternoon sunset, and listen to the summer night approaching on this excellent little paddle. It's a great way to get a local getaway for only $24.99 a person for the sunset paddle and a $4.99 add-on if you're enjoying our wine tasting through a Scout & Cellar associate. ID must be present for wine tasting, and no one under 21 years of age is allowed for wine tasting.

Classes

Tuesday 5:45am: "Strength +"  6:00am- 7:30am

*actual workout starts at 6:00 but folks always need a few mins to chat and warm up a little, so we can adjust the time if needed

description- 30 minute full-body circuit training using dumbbells, kettlebells, bodyweight, etc to work on strengthening and toning the entire body, followed by 1 hour on the water using SUP to boost the heart rate (light cardio) and then finishing the second half of the workout, and also the cool down, on the board.

 

Thursday 5:45am: "Core +"  6:00am- 7:30am

description- 30 minute core training focusing on abs, glutes, hips & shoulders, followed by 1 hour on the water using SUP to boost the heart rate (light cardio) and then finishing the second half of the workout, and also the cool down, on the board.

 

Saturday 6:45am: "Paddle +" 7:00am- 8:30am

*actual workout starts at 7:00 but folks always need a few mins to chat and warm up a little, so we can adjust the time if needed
