Red Top is one of the most visited areas of Allatoona and one of the most traveled areas of the south-east. Known for its deep waters year round and beautiful beaches scattered all over the park. Ask us the best times to paddle and we will show you the areas. Keep in mind Friday- Sunday this area can be very busy with boats and tourists. But worth it is an understatement.
Red Top Mountain State Park
Bethany Bridge Boat Ramp
481 Red Top Mountain Rd SE Cartersville, GA 30121
Red Top Mtn. is a great place to paddle we meet customers at the boat ramp and will have their gear by the water and ready to paddle. Ask for our maps to the small beaches around Red Top and suggested paddle times. The boat ramp is right beside a set of restrooms and tables. DNR requires a parking fee of 5.00 paid on spot and cash only to the green DNR parking box.
You could spend all day at Red Top and visit hand full of the small beaches and really only see part of it. Plenty of coves to hang out in. We have found the best time to paddle this area is weekdays and early mornings or late afternoons. Boat traffic can be heavy at times so we suggest staying 100 ft from shore. Most of the time you can find areas with no one around and go have lunch at a beach and catch some sun. Awesome area to hang and throw up hammocks too. Ask us to share some of the areas with a map.

Pull your board up, stretch your legs and check out some of the awesome areas to explore.
Plenty of areas to stop and swim after a few visits you will see why this is one of our favorite areas to paddle. As the lake drops during fall season and winter Red Top will hold water year round and comes alive even more during fall.
