ROPE MILL PARK
690 OLDE ROPE MILL PARK RD , WOODSTOCK GA , 30188

PARK HOURS 7AM-11PM
Located in Woodstock off of Ridgewalk Pkwy by The Outlet Shoppes. This small slow-moving river leads to the main part of the lake towards Little River Bridge. Known for the local waterfalls this is one of the best paddles in the area. About 35 minutes downstream are a set of waterfalls that make for a great day and reason to get out and hang out with friends. With no rapids at any time and very minimal current, this makes a great place for paddling when the main part of the lake is busy with boats. However, boats can still get to the falls and this area can get very busy on the weekends. Best time to paddle is early morning on a weekday. During the weekend its advised if you cant find parking near the water to park in the overflow parking lot up top. Also during heavy rains, the river will stay darker until the water clears out. This is a great place to paddle because this river leads out to a larger body of water with feeder streams connecting. Not suggested for 1 HR paddles, it takes 35 minutes to reach the waterfalls. The park has picnic tables and a small restroom facility.
SMALL RIVER FEEL WITH ENDLESS AREAS TO EXPLORE
We work with customers to ensure they know where they are going on each paddle. While we hand out maps to most customers, they are limited. The waterfalls can be hard to find for first timers so we will talk you through the area. If you paddle our fiberglass boards on rope mill be cautious of rocks that can damage fiberglass boards. The waterfalls have a sandy area to the left we ask you pull up your kayak or board there when you get out. --BE CAREFUL THE ROCKS ARE SLIPPERY-- take caution when walking.
